The Meta
First you have to make a complete META. A search engine needs those keywords in the META to make hits to your site. Those keywords must of course describe the subject of your site, but you also can use indirect keywords (look at my example). If you want to generate keywords, use "this" Meta generator. Here are some examples to make a META :
Note : Don't use to much keywords and keywords without any relation to your subject. It's bad for your publicity and very annoying. The description is often more importand for some search engines.
Submit to a search Engine
If the META is finished, you can subscribe to some search engines. If your side is made for your country only, choose a national search engine, otherwise choose also an international one. You can Submit one by one (manual) or use a program or SubmitSite to Submit many sites at once. That's much faster but not always for free, so look out.
Test with the search engines by typing your META keywords to find your own site. By doing this you maybe can find other or better keywords for you META. You will see that it needs a lot of experience before your META becomes professional !
Of course there are other possibilities to promote your site. You can mail a site of your subject, make a standard story with the announcement of your site and the question to link it. Make a link on the mail to your site and show them your link to their site, which will make a good impression.
